From the first call to 30 days after launch
This is roughly how a fixed-scope web app project runs with us. Timings depend on the scope.
- 01
Free scoping call
30 minWe hear what you want to build, how the work gets done today and what budget you have in mind. By the end of the call it is usually clear which engagement model fits.
- 02
Written scope and proposal
The business analyst writes up the requirements with acceptance criteria, and the tech lead settles the technical approach. On fixed scope, 30% is paid on start and the rest across delivery milestones.
- 03
First working version
2-4 weeksThe first version of a web app that you can open and use typically ships within 2-4 weeks. You try the screens in your own browser.
- 04
Weekly releases
MVP: 3-6 weeksA new version arrives every week, and your feedback sets the priorities for the next one. An MVP, first version included, typically takes 3-6 weeks.
- 05
Testing and launch
Our senior QA tests the release before it goes live. You receive the source code, documentation and setup instructions, and all code and IP transfer to you on final payment.
- 06
The 30 days after launch
30 daysAny bugs that turn up in this period are fixed free of charge. After that you can move to a monthly retainer or carry on with a new scope.
Who does what in a project week
You met the roles above. Here is what the same people are busy with in an ordinary project week.
Product owner
Agrees the week’s priorities with you, answers your questions and gets the weekly release to you.
Business analyst
Writes up the next tasks with acceptance criteria, so everyone knows what counts as done before development starts.
Tech lead
Makes the technical calls, reviews the junior developers’ work and keeps an eye on code quality.
Developers
The mid-level developer carries web, mobile and integration work. The two junior developers handle development and maintenance under the tech lead’s supervision.
Senior QA
Tests the week’s release against the acceptance criteria before it reaches you.
Why our own products double as a lab
We build and run Hippotenus, Logaritim and SoruVerse ourselves. Thousands of people use them, and real money moves through them.
Running a live product
We know from our own work how a bug in a live product reaches users, and how quickly it needs fixing.
Real payments
Real money flows through our products, so we test payment steps with extra care.
Both app stores
SoruVerse is live on the App Store and Google Play, so we go through store reviews and updates with an app of our own.
An approach we use on client projects has been tried on these products first. Our education page describes what they do in more detail.
Industries with their own page: camping, auto repair, education
We work with businesses in many industries. For three of them we have written separate pages on what software can do there:
Camping and glamping
Direct-booking websites, live pricing, WhatsApp-ready requests and availability tracking.
Auto repair shops
Scheduling by lift and technician, digital job cards, photo-based approval for extra work and service history.
Education
Student tracking, mock-exam analysis, homework, exam preparation and parent updates for tutoring centres, courses and schools.
If your industry isn’t on the list, that’s fine. In the scoping call, just walk us through how your business runs.
Which clients we work well with
We tend to work well together when
- You know your business well but have no software team of your own
- You can set aside someone to try the weekly release and give feedback
- You’d rather start with a small first version and grow the scope from there
- You care about keeping full ownership of the code and IP
- You’re based abroad and want an English-speaking team close to European hours
Another option may suit you better when
- Your budget is below US$1,000
- You won’t have time for decisions and feedback during the project
- You expect a fixed price before the scope is written down
- You need a team for less than three months; for that we suggest a fixed-scope project
Questions people ask about the team
Are you freelancers or a team?
A team of seven: a tech lead, a product owner, a business analyst, three developers and a senior QA. Invoices come from our registered business in Türkiye. Your contact on the project is the product owner, and the team does the work together.
Which languages do you work in?
English and Turkish. We hold calls and write to you in whichever you prefer, and this website is in both languages too.
How do you work with clients outside Türkiye?
We work from Istanbul on UTC+3, which fully overlaps with EU and UK business hours. Our prices are in USD, and you can pay by SWIFT (USD or EUR), Wise or Payoneer. We sign your NDA and can work under your own MSA/SOW. So far we have delivered to clients in more than 20 countries.
When will I see a first working version?
For a web app, the first working version typically ships within 2-4 weeks. MVPs take 3-6 weeks. After that you get a new version every week.
What do I have at the end of a project?
The source code, documentation and setup instructions. All code and IP transfer to you on final payment, and we fix any bugs that turn up in the first 30 days after launch free of charge.
Which engagement models do you offer?
Four: fixed scope (30% on start, the rest across delivery milestones), time & materials, a monthly retainer, and a dedicated team of 2-6 engineers. We choose the right one together in the scoping call. Rates are US$25-60 per person-hour, depending on the role, and projects start from US$1,000.
